LinkedIn Initiative Based Outreach to Reach Prospects Before the Vendor Shortlist Is Set

Your prospect just announced a new facility, a product launch, or a plan to improve operations. What if your sales team could reach out while they’re still planning—with a specific way to help?

For founders and small B2B sales teams, that is the opportunity behind our evolving LinkedIn initiative based outreach workflow. It connects public business announcements to personalized email follow-up, with the salesperson copied and the activity recorded in the CRM.

The goal is to get into useful conversations earlier, create more qualified meetings, and give your company a chance to win the business. Along the way, we help you build a prospect database your business can keep developing across multiple channels.

Get into the conversation before the vendor shortlist is set

Think about the difference between these two openings.

“Just checking in to see if you need anything.”

“Saw your announcement about the new distribution center. Are you evaluating freight and temporary storage options for the transition?”

The second message gives the prospect a clear reason to respond. It connects to a project they have already put into the world and asks a question your company is equipped to help answer.

Being early matters when a project is still taking shape: your team has an opportunity to learn about requirements and contribute options before a buyer has settled on a shortlist. We cannot promise to be the first email in someone’s inbox, or know whether they have already selected suppliers. We can build the workflow around finding relevant announcements and acting while the context is fresh.

The message we want your prospect to take away is simple: “These people understand what we’re working on, and they might be useful.”

What the LinkedIn monitoring workflow actually does

The starting point is your ideal customer profile: the companies, decision-makers, territories, and situations where you can create real value. We can work from an existing prospect database or help build one through Prospect Pump.

Next, we define the signals worth watching. For a logistics company, that might be a new warehouse or product launch. For an automation provider, it might be a facility expansion or a stated productivity initiative. A new sales leader discussing pipeline development could be relevant to a sales services company.

The workflow monitors accessible public LinkedIn activity for those connections. A useful match needs more than a keyword: the announcement should be recent enough to matter, the person should fit your audience, and your offer should connect to the actual initiative.

That context informs a short, personalized email. The message references the announcement, offers a concrete way to help, and asks a natural question. The salesperson can be copied, and the outreach and source context can be recorded in the connected CRM.

Timing depends on monitoring cadence, accessible activity, and sending windows. A focused pilot establishes what can be covered reliably for your audience before expanding the workload.

Two actual outreach examples from our logistics business

We are putting this approach to work in our own business at Easy Logistics Management. These are examples of messages sent, rather than claims of meetings or sales generated.

A new logistics management role. One outreach email acknowledged a prospect’s announcement about a new materials and logistics management role, then offered to work through one actual inbound or outbound shipment. The question was specific:

“Is there one lane or recurring shipping task you’d like a second set of eyes on as you get settled?”

A planned service center. Another message referenced a company’s announced service center plans and connected the transition to potential freight and temporary storage requirements:

“Would an additional freight or storage option be useful as the transition takes shape?”

Both examples gave our salesperson visibility through the email CC. The value is the connection between the event, the offer, and the next question. A prospect can understand why we contacted them without reading a long company introduction.

You build a market you can keep reaching

A prospect database has uses beyond LinkedIn monitoring. Some excellent prospects rarely post. Others may fit your offer but have no current project. Your business should still be able to develop those relationships.

In our approach, the prospect records we help you build are maintained in agreed business-controlled destinations, such as your CRM or an exportable database. You retain those records for continued use within the applicable data terms and outreach permissions.

That creates several ways to work the same market: relevant one-to-one email, salesperson calls, event invitations, educational content, permission-based newsletters, and follow-up when a later initiative creates a stronger opening.

Keeping a business contact record does not automatically make that person a newsletter subscriber. Channel permissions and suppression preferences still apply. The practical benefit is continuity: the database, relationship history, and campaign learning can keep supporting your business beyond this single workflow.

How this compares with GojiBerry Clay and Warmly

Signal based prospecting is an established product category. GojiBerry, Clay, and Warmly all offer capabilities worth evaluating. The comparison below describes their published capabilities and our intended service approach, rather than a head-to-head performance test.

Approach Published capability or service focus What to evaluate
GojiBerry Signal based lead discovery, enrichment, personalized LinkedIn and email outreach, and contact/list exports. Signal fit, message quality, export requirements, and how the workflow connects with your sales process.
Clay Contact and company signals, enrichment, and configurable custom monitoring workflows. Who will build and maintain the workflow, monitoring cadence, and usage costs.
Warmly Website and other intent signals, including social activity, role changes, hiring, and news. Which signal sources matter for your buyers and how they route into sales action.
Crush It Sales Automation A managed approach combining prospect database development, initiative based outreach, engagement context, and sales handoff. Start with a focused pilot to validate signal coverage, personalization, CRM records, and qualified conversations.

GojiBerry does let customers export contacts and lists. We would not describe data portability as exclusive to Crush It. Our positioning is the managed combination: help build the market, connect relevant signals to your offer, put outreach into your sales process, and keep developing that audience across appropriate channels.

For some teams, a self-service platform will be the right fit. For others, the harder part is deciding what to monitor, building and maintaining the workflow, and making sure the salesperson has useful context. That is where our service is focused.

Connect the announcement to the rest of the funnel

Initiative based outreach becomes more useful when your team can also see what happens afterward. Did the prospect reply? Did they request information? Did the conversation produce an agreed next step?

Our Easy Button Sales Intelligence system adds engagement context and prioritization. The broader sales follow-up approach connects that context with ongoing action. Available integrations and configuration determine the exact workflow for each company.

A useful funnel joins the pieces: build the right audience, recognize a relevant event, start a conversation, record the response, and help sales take the next step. A reply should lead to an appropriate human conversation; a declined offer should update how the contact is handled.

What we measure before expanding

A pilot should establish how many target prospects can be monitored, how many fresh and relevant signals appear, and whether the outreach actually reflects those signals. We then track delivered emails, positive replies, qualified meetings, opportunities, and eventually customers.

Opens and clicks can provide context, but they are not proof of buying intent or revenue. The examples above demonstrate actual outreach. More meetings and clients are the outcomes we want to earn and measure.

Not every initiative is a purchase signal. A new role does not prove dissatisfaction with current suppliers. An expansion does not prove a storage problem. Good outreach asks a useful question instead of pretending to know an unconfirmed need.

What would being early look like in your market

Tell us who you sell to, what you help them accomplish, and which announcements tend to create a good reason to talk. We can assess your existing list and sales tools, identify the signals worth watching, and scope a focused pilot.

Get into the conversation while the project is taking shape. Build a prospect market your business can keep developing.
